單字講座 138：hoard (v) / horde (n)

原來松鼠是收納高手！研究人員發現松鼠會利用「分區分類」的方式，將堅果按不同種類、質量、喜好儲藏在不同的地點。這個模式和人們收納的概念很類似。話說「儲藏」是 hoard 還是 horde 呢？下方說分明。




▍hoard (v) 儲藏
▶ 例 1：我兒子非常喜歡松鼠，所以他儲藏每一本他能找到的關於松鼠的書。
My son loves squirrels so much that he hoards every single squirrel book he can find.

▍horde (n) 群（人）
▶例 1：一群又一群人踩踏花田，傷害了當地花農的生計。
Hordes of people tramping through the flower fields damaged the livelihood of local tulip farmers.
