單字講座 140：idle (adj) / idol (n)

韓國的拍照文化引領潮流，從早期的「手指愛心」、進化版的「蝴蝶結愛心」、再到近年的「反轉YA」，創意源源不絕。最近，許多偶像明星開始挑戰「貓咪影子」，顧名思義就是透過擺姿勢和光影變化，在地上或牆上投射出可愛貓咪剪影。全民模仿風潮蔓延中。話說「偶像」是 idle 還是 idol 呢？下方說分明。




▍idle (adj) 閒（懶）散的 / 閒置的
▶ 例 1：她渴望過著閒散的生活，將重心放在休息、放鬆或休閒娛樂。
She yearns to lead an idle life with a focus on rest, relaxation, or leisurely pursuits.

▶ 例 2：新輪胎來之前，Roy 的腳踏車閒置在車庫。
Before the new tire arrived, Roy’s bike sat idle in the garage.

▍idol (n) 偶像
▶ 例 1：Tom 的姐姐看起來有點像我的偶像—韓團 BLACKPINK 的 Rosé。Rosé 以她獨特的嗓音聞名。
Tom’s sister looks a bit like my idol, Rosé from BLACKPINK, who is noted for her distinctive voice.
