單字講座 31：bland (adj) / blend (v) / blank (adj) (n)

夏至過後，正式宣告熱辣辣的酷暑來襲！大家可要多補水防中暑。切記，你的心頭好，無論是茶飲、咖啡、還是果汁，可是怎樣也無法取代那嚐起來 _______ 的水唷。你會用下列哪個字形容水呢？bland、blend 還是 blank？

▍bland (adj)（食物）平淡無味的 = tasteless / 無趣的 = boring

▶ 例 1：這湯嚐起來平淡無味。我來加點鹽和胡椒。
The soup tastes bland. Let me add some salt and pepper.

▶ 例 2：他是個無聊的人。他說的所有事情幾乎都很無趣或是老生常談。
He is a boring person. Almost everything he said was quite bland or a cliche.

▍blend (v) 混合 = mix / 融入
▶ 例 1：若你將紅色和白色混合，你就會得到粉紅色。若你把頭髮染成粉紅色，你將很能融入龐克搖滾俱樂部，和他們打成一片。
If you blend red with white, you get pink. If you dye your hair pink, you’ll blend in with people at the punk rock club!

▍blank (adj) 空白的 = empty (n) 空格

▶ 例 1：我有嚴重的舞台恐懼症。我一踏上舞台，我的腦袋就一片空白。
