一向以高品質和創新贏得消費者信賴的日本汽車產業怎麼了？日本國土交通省3日公開點豐田（Toyota Motor）、日本山葉（Yamaha）、馬自達（Mazda）等幾家知名車廠涉嫌在車輛性能測試環節造假。車企必須盡快補正資料，通過後才能重新獲得銷售許可。從正露丸、紅麴藥品、船舶製造業到汽車產業，造假連環爆，日本製造已不再是品質保證。話說「值得信賴的」是 dependable 還是 dependent 呢？下方說分明。




dependable 和 dependent 都是從「動詞」depend 衍生而來的「形容詞」。

▍dependable (adj) 值得信賴的
▶ 例 1：Jack 是個值得信賴的演員，無論什麼角色他都能駕馭。
Jack is a dependable actor who always does a great job regardless of the role.

▍dependent (adj) 依賴的
▶ 例 1：每天早上，我依賴咖啡來保持警醒。
I am dependent on coffee every morning to stay alert.
= I depend on coffee every morning to stay alert.
