文法講座四十一：連接詞 no matter what/which/who/how/where/when

中文意思	連接詞 + S + V	連接詞 + S + V
無論什麼	no matter what             =	whatever
無論哪個	no matter which            =	whichever
無論是誰	no matter who              =	whoever
無論哪裡	no matter where            =	wherever
無論如何	no matter how + adj/adv + S + V =	however + adj/adv + S + V
無論何時	no matter when            =	whenever

上表中的「連接詞」可連接句子，即「主詞 + 動詞」，且用法和 if / when / before / after / until 等連接詞相同，遇到「未來式或未來時間」時，緊跟在連接詞後方的句子中的動詞須改用「現在式」。

例句：無論誰贏得這場總統大選，經濟危機依然在。

No matter who wins this presidential election, there is still an economic crisis.
Whoever wins this presidential election, there is still an economic crisis.

注意：who 在句中有雙重身分，既是疑問詞也是主詞，who 當主詞時，視為第三人稱單數，故 no matter who 後方直接加動詞 wins。

例句：歷經這麼多無法兌現的承諾後，不管他說甚麼, 我都不信。

After so many broken promises, I don’t believe him no matter what he says.
After so many broken promises, I don’t believe him whatever he says.

例句：不管我多麼努力，我都無法贏得她的芳心。

No matter how hard I try, I just can’t win her heart.
I just can’t win her heart however hard I try.

例句：未來不管你去哪，我都會跟著你。

I will go with you no matter where you go.
Wherever you go, I will go with you.

注意：連接詞 no matter where 遇到「未來時間」，緊跟在連接詞後方的句中的動詞須改用「現在式」go。但連接詞另一邊的句子仍得維持「未來式」will go。
